I joined Cawthornes at age 17 and have held numerous positions within the business. Delivery Driver, Customer Service Representative, Marketing Manager and now Sales Director.
I enjoy all aspects of my job but in particular I like dealing with office furniture enquires so if your office is looking a little untidy I’m the man to ask!
Outside of work I enjoy hiking in the Lake District and playing golf with friends.
I have been in the print and office supplies industry since 2002. I started at Cawthornes in 2008 and I can honestly say, time just whizzes by! Probably because of how much I enjoy every day here (or maybe it is because I am a little hyperactive and do things at a million miles an hour!) One of the most important things for me in my role is building client relationships whilst also lowering their costs and increasing productivity. All of my customers are wonderful people! I think the vast array of items that we sell is also what makes every day very interesting!
Outside of work I teach dance and musical theatre to Children between the ages of 3 and 11. I have two young children of my own who keep me on my toes. I also enjoy other types of fitness and relaxation.
Overall I am an account managing, dance teaching, hyperactive mum, who cannot wait to do business with you!
I have been working at Cawthornes since 2002 and have been part of the sales team since 2006. I think that by now I have a great knowledge of all things stationery and due to my design background I love the opportunity to get involved with printed products and office refurbishments.
Show me a colour swatch and I am happy for hours. The best part of my job is meeting new people and building relationships with new clients. It is great to find out what clients need so that I can exceed their expectations and work with them on a day to day basis to build a business partnership. Outside of work I enjoy going to concerts (bad taste in music) and comedy nights(I love a good giggle). I have a wonderful daughter who keeps me very busy and entertained.
Overall I am a dedicated, enthusiastic, art loving, account managing, mum of one with a fun loving heart.
I have now been working at Cawthornes since 2006. I started in the store on a Saturday and then worked my way onto the Customer Service Team. I worked in Customer Service for 2 years whilst studying Graphic Design part time at College. I completed my BA Hons in Graphic Design and moved onto the Design team within the print side of the business. This is where my love for all things print came from. I love a company rebrand and talking about all print related products. I can’t go for a meal without proof checking the menu!
Outside of work I love to go horse riding, day trips away and anything that gets your adrenaline going (excluding heights, I hate heights). I have two beautiful daughters who I dote on and a cavalier Belle who is more work than my daughters. Overall I’m a obsessed print junkie ready to mingle.
I jumped at the opportunity to join Cawthornes in October 2016, a year after recieving my Higher National Diploma in Graphic Design. My main role is to create artwork for leaflets, menus, business cards, posters, pretty much anything that we are printing on! Design is something I have been passionate for as long as I can remember, whether it's a clever meaningful logo, a well-presented website or a cute impactful illustration, I love the art of visual communication.
I am Laura. I started at Cawthornes fresh out of college and have been here since 2003. I started in the Customer Service team and now I head up the team and also look after our back office system.
Outside of work I enjoy spending time with my family and love listening to music!
I have worked at Cawthornes since 1991 on the printing presses and moving in to sales as well as continuing to print after 4 years. I implemented and run our Quality and Environmental ISO systems and my responsibility is Print Director ensuring timely production and delivery across the wide range of print we produce. It is a very varied role which I enjoy immensely
I live in Birmingham with my wife and 2 sons. After work I like to keep active (not a great TV fan), and I am a Black Belt Judo Instructor at Bushi Judo Club in Erdington, Birmingham. Teaching anybody from the age of 6 up to 80. I am also Pipe Major of The Birmingham Irish Pipes and Drums, a position I have now held since 2002. This leads to me playing at a great range of events and the band has travelled to Ireland and the USA to take part in huge St Patricks day Parades.
Both my sons are also involved in these activities. In order not to get thrown around too much at the Judo I also go to Nuffield Gym in Nuneaton 3 to 4 times a week to try and keep fairly fit. I read a lot with my favourite author being Lee Child. (The creator of Jack Reacher). I also like to read business books to keep the brain cells active and am always keen to learn new things about management, sales and new thinking in the business world.
I joined Cawthornes in 2013 after deciding to go back to full time work now that my family has grown up. I work in the Print Department but a lot has changed in printing in the many years that I have been away. Machines exist which never used to ... like the digital press. I now operate the Xerox digital press, I print jobs which need smaller runs than the lithographic presses which includes everything from business cards to full colour brochures. My previous proof reading skills come in handy too, for spotting and rectifying any mistakes before they go to print.
Earlier on in the year I went to college on a "Photoshop" course. I use Photoshop to set up artwork that I need for sublimation jobs. I print on mugs, T shirts, bags, key rings and all sorts of other media including embroidery.
In my spare time I play Crown Green Bowls. I have been playing for 5 seasons now, so I still class myself as a newbie. I get beaten regularly but I still love it !!!
Hi I’m John, I have worked at Cawthornes since 2005 but have been in the print industry for over 50 years. I work in the Print Department and my main role is to produce all the print work for our clients such as letterheads, business cards and order pads etc. Outside of work I enjoy water colour painting and going fell walking with friends. I enjoy spending time with my grandchildren and walking my dog at the weekends.
I have been at Cawthornes since June 2013. I started as an Apprentice working on my NVQ Level 2 in Retail which I have now completed. My main role at Cawthornes is to look after customers that visit our shop and make sure everything is running smoothly. Giving great service is really important to me as I love my job at Cawthornes. Before starting my NVQ I completed an extended Diploma Level 3 in ICT. I love warm weather, going travelling and experiencing new places and culture.
